What Being a Moodle Certified Integration Actually Means

In July 2026, EduGears AI became an official Moodle Certified Integration. It's a badge we're proud of — and because trust in education should be specific rather than vibes-based, this post explains exactly what it means, what Moodle reviewed, and what the certification does not claim.
Moodle's certification program exists because the Moodle ecosystem is enormous and open. Anyone can build an integration; institutions needed a way to tell which ones the Moodle team has actually looked at. Certification means our integration's features and our LTI 1.3 implementation were reviewed and verified by Moodle — the integration works as described, follows the standards correctly, and behaves properly inside a Moodle site. We're listed in Moodle's certified integrations directory, and the listing is publicly checkable.
To be equally clear about what it is not: certification is not a security audit of our company, and it isn't Moodle endorsing every claim we make in our marketing. It's a focused, real review of how the integration works with Moodle. We'd rather tell you that plainly than let a badge imply more than it says — that habit is worth more than any badge.
Why does this matter for an institution? Because the install path for AI tools runs through people whose job is to say no.
