Trust & Security
Built to be trusted
Education runs on trust. This page collects, in one place, exactly how we handle your data, your AI usage, and your content — in plain language.
Data protection
Encryption everywhere
Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 and content is encrypted at rest with AES-256.
Tenant isolation at the database layer
On EduGears AI LMS, each academy's data is isolated with database row-level security — one tenant's queries physically cannot reach another tenant's rows. Separation is architectural, not an application-code filter.
Data minimization and purging
AI requests carry the pedagogical content they need and no more. Transient learner submissions processed for grading are purged promptly — same-day — after processing.
How we use AI
Never trained on your content
Course materials, learner submissions, and grades are never used to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.
Your choice of AI provider
We work with multiple AI providers — including OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), DeepSeek, and Sarvam AI — so institutions can choose models that match their compliance posture and region.
Bring your own key (BYOK)
Institutions can run AI usage under their own provider accounts and data-processing agreements. Your usage, your terms, your audit trail.
Humans stay in the loop
AI output is a draft for professional judgment: educators review generated content, and grading workflows keep instructors in control of what counts.
Compliance & regulation
FERPA
For US educational institutions, we operate as a school official with a legitimate educational interest under FERPA, processing education records only as directed by the institution.
COPPA
For learners under 13, we rely on school-obtained consent and collect no more information than is reasonably necessary to provide the service.
GDPR alignment
For European customers, we process personal data under a data-processing agreement, honor data-subject rights, and support export and deletion requests.
Open standards & portability
No lock-in by design
LTI 1.3 (as certified tool and as platform), SCORM, Common Cartridge, and Moodle backup formats mean your content moves in and out freely.
Credentials learners own
Certificates are issued as Open Badges 3.0 verifiable credentials (W3C Verifiable Credentials) with public verification pages — portable and independently checkable.
Reviewed by Moodle
EduGears AI is a Moodle Certified Integration: our features and LTI 1.3 integration were reviewed and verified by Moodle. (Certification is a functional review, not a security audit — we say precisely what our badges mean.)
Questions our pages don't answer?
Security questionnaires, data-processing agreements, subprocessor lists — we answer diligence questions directly and quickly.
